Writer's Block: My Guilty Pleasure

What's your guilty pleasure?

View 135 Answers

I don't get the whole "guilty pleasure" idea. Perhaps I'm too much of a hedonist to fully grasp the concept. If I like something and it brings me pleasure, why should I feel guilty about it? Should I feel quilt when I spend one of my days off in bed doing nothing but reading, when I could be doing something like laundry or dishes or some such nonsense? I don't think so. Its my day off, and the laundry will be there tomorrow, as will the rest of the house chores, so why should I feel guilty about how *I* choose to spend *my* hard earned day off? To claim something is a 'guilty pleasure' to me, is saying you enjoy something that gives you a guilty feeling, which, if your feeling guilty, means your doing something you shouldn't be.
